Dwarka: Members of Senior Citizens Welfare Association of Dwarka Sector 13 were introduced to the Senior Citizens Cell of Dwarka police. They were called on deputy commissioner of police (DCP) at his office here in Sector 19 on February 24.

The cell is a citizen-centric initiative from the Delhi Police to help the elderly of the city. The members were assisted to fill in necessary forms by the officials of the cell.

The DCP convinced the elderly members of the city to register themselves with the cell and download the 'Delhi Police Senior Citizen' app. The app would enable the seniors to reach out to the police quickly in any emergency situation.

During their interaction with the DCP, the members of the group drew his attention to the frequent cases of chain snatching, theft etc. They also discussed the emerging safety concerns of the old people living alone and asked for frequent visit by constables to keep updating the data of senior citizens.

The DCP assured the association free space for citizen-centric functions, such as free medical camps, meetings and other community initiatives.

The delegation took a photograph with the DCP presenting him a bouquet.
