First medical camp for senior residents of Antriksh Golf View 2
Noida: A free health checkup camp was held here at Antriksh Golf View 2, a highrise in sector 78, on Sunday for the senior citizens. This was the society's first health camp organised by a group of residents in association with Jaypee Hospital.
More than 150 people benefited from the camp which saw a stream of senior citizens trooping in and out of the venue all day long to avail the services on offer. The older citizens generally neglect their medical needs and often feel they are fit for their age.
Sachin Sharma, the resident coordinator, said, "We had made a special request to the hospital to send in doctors specialised in cardiology, orthopaedics and gynecology, as our society has a lot of senior residents who cannot always step out that easily.”
At the camp, tests for blood pressure, hypertension, hypothyroid were carried out along with general checkup. Free medical consultation was also provided during the camp to anyone who stepped in. Residents of a nearby society Assotech Windsor Court also took consultation during the camp.
The eldest member to benefit from the camp was 85 years of age. Female residents, who were seen lining up for their chance to consult the gynecologist, too turned up in huge numbers.
