Delhi: Building material, garbage, bottles, broken furniture, charred cars and many more were in the cart of East Delhi Municipal Coporation (EDMC) while it carried out cleanliness drive in riot-affected areas.
A total of 700 metric ton of garbage was collected from various areas of violence hit north-east region of Delhi.
Chairman Standing committee East Delhi Municipal Corporation, Sandeep Kapoor said, “Since the threat from coronavirus is growing by the day, the area must be kept clean to prevent any infection. This is the highest ever garbage collecting statistic. Fumigation will also be done in various areas of east Delhi which caught fire. EDMC is making all efforts to bring the people back into their normal lives.”
Scrapes are yet to be cleared. Trash and scrapes will be pulled with the help of JCV machine.
