DIVYA JYOTI HOSPITAL IDENTIFIED AS LEVEL-1 COVID HOSPITAL
A 300-bedded Level-1 COVID hospital has been set up at Divya Jyoti (DJ) Hospital in Modinagar in Ghaziabad district.
This facility was shortlisted after extensive inspections were conducted by the CMO attache Ghaziabad and COVID-19 nodal officers of the district. The Ghaziabad district administration is involved in a capacity building exercise setting up dedicated Level-1 COVID hospitals atpremier healthcare facilities across the state to deal with a possible surge in cases of COVID-19.
Dr. Manju Shiwach, MLA Modinagar, also visited the premises personally to take stock of the preparations underway. Dr. Shiwach said “the addition of Divya Jyoti hospital will greatly help the district tackle a surge in positive cases and thanked the management of the hospital for their unconditional support” and added that “while Modinagar currently does not have any positive cases of COVID-19, however, our preparation should be thorough, and we must abide by the lockdown, and follow social distancing”.
Divya Jyoti Hospital is run by Jassar Dental Medical Education Health Foundation started by Late Shri Ajit Singh Jassar, a prominent businessman of the Ghaziabad district.
Divya Jyoti Hospital may have been shortlisted as it already has the requisite medical infrastructure in place. The Divya Jyoti medical complex has additional capacity which the state administration can utilise to enhance the facility intake up-to 700 beds.
Secretary, Jassar Dental Medical Education Health Foundation, Dr. Smiti Klaire said “we are in regular contact with the district administration and are providing our full support to support the containment and treatment efforts. The sanitisation of the campus hospitals is underway”.
