Indirapuram: An NGO, Ek Lakshya Educational and Cultural Society, has completed plantation of 1,500 saplings in the Indirapuram area of Ghaziabad.
The drive was carried out under the 2020 plantation mission of the Uttar Pradesh government – Mera Vriksha Mera Bhavishya.
Ram Byas Rai, Secretary of the Ek Lakshya Educational and Cultural Society, said that it was a challenging task to plant saplings amid the coronavirus pandemic.
Rai said, “The plantation drive was carried out with the help of committed social workers of the NGO and respected persons of the society. The drive was carried out with total compliance to the preventive guidelines issued by the authority amid coronavirus pandemic.”
He informed that the target to plant 1,500 saplings was completed within a week. “We wore masks and maintained social distancing while conducting the plantation drive,” he added.
