New Delhi: The city of Delhi recorded light to moderate rainfall on Monday evening. The temperature settled at 35.7 degrees Celsius which was two notches above the normal.
Now, the India Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued an ‘orange’ alert for the city in the next three days. The IMD forecasted moderate to heavy showers in the period.
As of now, the national capital has received normal rain in the monsoon season. The rain deficit was covered after the heavy rain last Thursday. It was the heaviest rain of the monsoon season so far.
As per a met official, Delhi is expected to witness moderate to heavy rain till Thursday. He said that the overall rain could even touch the surplus range by Friday.
Safdarjung, which is Delhi’s base station, recorded 23.2 mm of rainfall between 8.30 am and 5.30 pm on Monday. During the same period, Lodhi Road recorded 24.9 mm rainfall.
In the monsoon season, Delhi has received 338.4 mm of rainfall till now.
