Dwarka: Green Circle, an NGO working for nature and environment, organised a cycling event on Sunday in Dwarka. Additional DCP RP Meena flagged off the event, which had about 70 participants.

After a motivational address, the cycling event was flagged off from DDA Sports Complex in Sector 11. The participants wore T-shirts with a message – GO GREEN GO CYCLING.

They also held many placards with messages such as save energy, stop pollution, plant trees, do not burn garbage, segregate waste etc.

The participants took a halt after reaching Sector 23 waterbody. They took a stroll around the waterbody and sighted many residential and migratory birds like Coot, Spotbill, Common Goose, Peacocks, Rufous treepie, Black Winged Stilt etc.

The event concluded at DDA park at Sector 9. The participants covered a distance of 9 km during the event. Certificates of appreciation were issued to all participants at the end.

V Selvarajan, Secretary of Green Circle said, “This program was arranged to highlight the need for switching over to cycle, an eco-friendly mode of transportation to fight pollution.”

He also stressed on the importance of health during the coronavirus pandemic. The cyclers wore masks and maintained social distance during the event.
