Dwarka: Dwarka police on Tuesday organised an online awareness session to sensitise senior citizens on cybercrimes. A total of 50 persons participated online through Webex meeting application.

“Because of rising cybercrime incidents, we held a meeting in which senior citizens and social activists residing at Dwarka district, participated. The main objective of the group is to make senior citizens aware about various cybercrimes so that maximum number of people can be prevented from falling into the trap of cybercriminals,” said a police official.

The participants were made aware about different frauds like phishing, safety features of a website, SIM swap, OLX ad frauds, Paytm, KYC Scam, UPI hijacking and UPI collect request scam, job frauds, loan frauds, insurance scams, social media account impersonation and skimming /duplicating of cards, EMI stopping fraud, Covid loan fraud and Covid gift voucher fraud etc.

The awareness session was conducted for two hours. Vijay Singh, ACP/Operation, Anil Baliyan (Dwarka Youth Wing Chairman) and senior citizens of Dwarka district participated in the video conference.
