Noida: Sec 50 residents protest against installation of mobile tower in vicinity

Noida: Residents of Sector 50, one of the poshest localities in Noida, on Saturday staged a protest against installation of a mobile tower in the residential pockets. They said that it would adversely impact the health of children, senior citizens and pregnant women who have been residing with their families in the sector.

Considering this, they took to the street to protest against the development. While protesting, residents maintained social distancing so that spreading of coronavirus can be controlled.

Vimal Sharma, President of Resident Welfare Association (RWA) of Sector 50, informed that a private agency was trying to install a mobile tower in the green belt, which is close to several residential bungalows in the sector.

Taking into account the health issue that may be caused due to wave radiation, residents of the sector strongly opposed the installation. Sharma said, “We have given a complaint to the concerned officer, demanding him to stop the installation of mobile tower in the green belt.”

Rajendra Singh, Deputy Director of Horticulture Department of Noida Industrial Development Authority, assured the residents that he would bring the issue into the notice of higher authority and would try to stop the installation of the tower.
