Noida: As there was lack of facility in the society, residents of Udyog Vihar, a densely populated residential pocket in Sector 82, Noida turned a barren piece of land into a temporary play area for children.
Yogesh Sharma, President of Resident Welfare Association (RWA), Udyog Vihar informed that the piece of land is earmarked for development of market, park and facility for residents. But the development has been pending since long. Due to this, thick weeds emerged on the plot. The plot looked absurd.
Considering this issue, they initially decided to clean the plot. But later, they turned it into a temporary play area for residents and children of the society. They developed this area into a basketball court. Sharma said that they were demanding such a facility from the Noida Authority but it was yet to be fulfilled.
He said, “There is no place for residents and children to play during the leisure time. Due to this, they were not getting involved into physical activities which is important in maintaining fitness. To solve this issue, they cleaned the vacant plot. It is now a temporary playground, where residents and children can play.”
“Developing the vacant plot into a play area has solved both the issues of lack of facility and bad look outside the society,” he added.
