Urbtech Xaviers: Residents protest against lack of permanent power connection

Noida: Residents of Urbtech Xaviers, a highrise in Sector 168, Noida on Saturday staged a protest against the developer of the society for having not taken permanent electricity supply connection.

They complained that the developer is providing electricity supply from the same temporary connection, which was taken years ago for development work. Due to this, frequent power supply disruption is being observed in the society as the current connection can not bear the load of increased demand.

Residents said that the temporary connection was taken for construction purposes. But the demand has increased in many folds as around 600 families have already made it into the society.

They said that it causes huge inconvenience to residents as power supply is irregular and the developer is yet to build up a power back system in the society. Residents complained that the developer has not purchased DG sets for supplying power to residents in the society.

They pointed out that the developer has been renting a DG set to manage the scarcity during power outages. But the developer is yet to buy the DG set for the society.

Further, residents complained that the current billing system is not much transparent as they could not identify how much they are being charged for accessing power supply from DG set and how much they are being charged for getting supply from the main electricity line.

They said that the developer has been charging them exorbitantly. Considering these issues, we have staged a protest today and demanded that these issues should be solved.
