Noida Shaheed Smarak Sanstha to hold 20th annual wreath laying ceremony

Noida: Noida Shaheed Smarak Sanstha will be celebrating its 20th annual wreath-laying ceremony at 10 am on February 19. The annual souvenir of Smarak will be released by the Chief Guest Air Chief Marshal RKS Bhadauria, Chief of the Air Staff.

The chief guest and his wife, Asha Bhadauria, will be received by Suman Bakshi and Lt Gen GL Bakshi, Chairman and Lt Gen SK Singh, Executive Director of Sanstha.

“The objective of the function is to bring the soldier and civilian together on a common platform to inspire the local youth, which the common man can never entirely visualise. The ceremony is carried out with military precision and in a solemn and dignified manner, in keeping with the traditions of the Armed Forces,” said Cdr Narinder Mahajan.

The chief guest will be laying the wreath. Major General Alok Kacker, COS, Delhi Area; Maj Gen K V Jauhar, VSM, ADG (ADB) and Rear Admiral I B Uthaiah, VSM, ADG (Tech) (SEABIRD) on behalf of Army and Navy, will also be laying the wreath respectively.

Thereafter, families of 38 martyrs, civil and military dignitaries, IAS and IPS officers, heads of Arun Vihar and Jalvayu Vihar institutions, defence personnel, veterans, Jyoti Rana, Principal, Army Public School, Noida and Dina, Principal, Outreach Foundation School Noida; Kanwar Rudraansh Singh, playing for U-19, Indian football team and Khush Sharma, No 1, UP Tennis player, both students of Army Public School; and common citizens will pay their homage.

The Tri-Services Guard of Honour and buglers will be in attendance. Later, the Chairman will deliver a welcome address and the Chief of Army Staff will release the annual ‘Souvenir 2021’ followed by an address to the distinguished gathering.
