CitySpidey spoke to a few residents to get hold of the problem. A resident of the society, Amit Yadav said, “There is a lack of proper drainage facility which led to this problem. Since this is mosquito breeding season, we are worried about diseases like dengue, chikungunya and malaria.”

“Sector 102 is almost flooded. The basements of nearby societies are full of water,” he added.

Another resident of the society, Sunil Sareen said, “Sector 102 is already a low-lying sector. The government is collecting taxes but they are not bothered to provide basic amenities to the residents. The condition is pathetic. We are deprived of proper sewage drainage facilities, good roads, parks etc. The residents feel cheated.”

He added, “No proper drainage facility exists in Sector 102, causing accumulation of toxic substances, mosquito breeding and bad smell. It impacts all the nearby societies and the health of the residents.”
