Noida: There is a respite for the residents of Gaur Sportswood, a residential highrise society in Sector 79 in Noida and other societies in the vicinity as the authority has taken action to convert a shabby construction and demolition (C&D) waste dumping spot into a park.
The residents said that they were facing a lot of problems due to the dumping of C&D waste in the vacant area adjacent to the recycling plant of Ramky Reclamation and Recycling Limited.
As per the Officer on Special Duty of Noida Authority, they have asked the company to develop a park in the vacant area.
He said, “The plot adjacent to the C&D waste recycling plant will be converted into a park. We visited the location on Monday. We saw the plot was filled with C&D waste. We asked Ramky Reclamation and Recycling Limited to make a park at the location after cleaning the waste. The work will start in 3-4 days.”
On Monday, the senior officials visited Plot Number C-48, Sector 80 in Noida to inspect the location. The authority visited the location at the request of residents of Gaur Sportswood.
On August 18, the residents wrote a letter to the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Noida Authority requesting the development of a park at the location.
Sanwarjeet Singh, a resident of Gaur Sportswood said, “We, residents of Sector 79, want a small park for curbing pollution in the area. The park will be used by the residents of the sector. There is no park in Sector 79.”
