Noida: The residents of Lotus Boulevard, a residential highrise society in Sector 100, Noida are fed up due to the lifts not working properly and often stopping during its operations. The instances of residents getting trapped inside the lifts have been reported from society.
On Monday, Gaurav Chhibber, a resident of the society was stuck in a lift for 6-7 minutes. “My claustrophobic wife started panicking. We were stuck in the lift for 6-7 minutes. My wife is now paranoid about taking elevators. The lifts are of KONE, the builder has left us in shambles,” said Chhibber.
“Earlier KONE refused to maintain the lifts three years back but now they are back, charging more than Rs 3 crore to restore the lifts which they claim have been destroyed by the third party. There are daily problems with these lifts, which have endangered the lives of residents,” he added.

A resident of the society, Abhay Raj Mishra said, “Everyone in our society has faced this issue where the lift was stopped during operations. Sometimes there are instances when there is a freefall of lifts which is very dangerous for children and senior citizens. For heart patients, it can be fatal. We don't know where our maintenance money is being utilised. The lift problem has been going on since the handover of the society.”
Another resident Vipan Kumar said that they are facing problems with the lifts since the first week of August when KONE took over the maintenance.
He said, “I live in tower number 23. We hardly had any issues but now, from this month, we are facing regular issues with the lift. Most of the time it is not working. One day I came back from the office and I saw that both the lifts were not working, I had no option but to take the stairs to the ninth floor.”
