It's only agony since booking flat ten years ago, says an Ecovillage 1 resident

Noida: For some, purchasing a home in highrise society is a lifetime venture and in this manner, they hope to get what they pay for. Vijay Singh, a resident purchased his flat in Tower Number B9, Supertech Ecovillage 1, Greater Noida West, in 2010, but the registry of his flat is not done yet.

Singh lives with his wife Sonali Singh and their son. He said, “In 2010, this flat was in my budget, I saw the hoarding which had a tagline ‘Roti, Kapda aur Makan’ in which they offer 1BHK flat within Rs 10 lakhs. Then, I thought that it was not sufficient for me as my family will increase in future, so I booked a 2BHK flat for Rs 14.5 lakhs,” Singh added.

Singh shared that he tried for approval at IDBI bank for a home loan in 2010. He said, “The loan was approved by the bank and my monthly EMI was started but the tower was not built by the builder. No construction work had started then.”

According to Singh, the tower was not built in 2010 by the builder and they promised that they will give possession within 24 months but they only started living in the flat in 2018. He shared that he was the first resident who took possession of this tower.

Singh shared that for the last eight years, he has paid the EMI without even living in his flat. He said, “We were thinking that they will not build this tower so I collected a few numbers of the buyer of his tower and made a group and we started visiting continuously on the construction site.”

He added, “In 2018, after eight long years, we started living in this flat. Initially, we faced many problems like security and maintenance. There was no security guard and no housekeepers for this tower. After a few days, we reached Supertech for our registry paper but according to the authority, the builder has pending dues, due to which registry of the flats was stopped.”

According to Singh, the authority said that there is a pending amount of Rs 500 crore of Ecovillage and due to this, the authority stopped the registry. He added, “The tower doesn’t have Occupancy Certificate (OC) and Completion Certificate (CC) and as per the law if the tower doesn’t have OC/CC, which means the tower is illegal. If we want to sell our flat, no one will buy this flat.”

Singh said that the registry is not the only problem in society. The issues of Sewage Treatment Plant (STP), vehicle parking and others add to the problem.
