Noida: 7x Welfare Team continues traffic awareness drive

Noida: With the increasing practice of wrong side driving and people losing lives in road accidents, it has become high time to spread awareness about road safety. Driving on the wrong side can be fatal not only for the driver but also for other people who drive on the right side.

It is just not the responsibility of the Traffic Police but the duty of the citizens as well. On one hand, when the festival of Navratri is being celebrated and people are busy shopping out of their homes, on the other hand, with the guidance of the 7x Welfare Team, Noida Traffic Police, and joint support of Felix Hospital and Global Foundation, awareness drives are being continuously carried out every weekend. On Sunday, the drive was carried out at Gaur City Mall/Kisan Chowk.

The rush of people to reach home, the hope of getting out of the jam and the competition to reach their destination keeping the traffic rules in mind, is becoming a frequent cause of accidents. The report of the Ministry of Road Transport and Highways of 2019 states that 4.49 lakh people were victims of accidents, out of which 1.51 lakh people lost their lives. Normally, 17 deaths are happening every hour only on the road.

To dissuade people from driving on the wrong side, the 7x Welfare Team is constantly making people aware, and more and more people are joining this campaign as traffic volunteers. Felix Hospital is one of the first hospitals to partner in this initiative by providing free ambulances, free first aid in accidents, and privilege cards for traffic volunteers.

Brajesh Sharma, a member of 7x Welfare Team, said, “In our recent campaign, people were told about the rules of walking in the lane, keeping the speed normal, wearing a seat belt, wearing a helmet, following a zebra crossing, not jumping the lights, keeping the left turn free and other traffic rules.”
