GreNo: Volleyball tournament organised in Himalaya Pride Society

Greater Noida: To raise awareness among the youth, the residents of Himalaya Pride Residential Society, Greater Noida organised a two-day volleyball tournament starting December 4.

The tournament was held in the society's common area. The names of the teams were based on the respective towers A, B, C and D. Team B won the match and team C held the second position. Each team consisted of six players.

Tournament teams Captain Arjun Singh, Anil, Promise and Nishant Sharma talked about their respective teams to improve their games for the future. Man of the match and man of the series title went to Nikhil. The chief Guest on the occasion was Annu Khan, Social Activist and President NEFOMA, and  Special Guest was Rashmi Pandey General Secretary NEFOMA.

Annu Khan, President NEFOMA says, “Not only youngster, but senior citizens also have to focus on fitness. Residents of others societies should also organise such tournaments. NEFOMA is always in  the support of children who wants to play or participate in sports.”

Tournament organizer Devendra Chaudhary says. “The children of the society should take an active part in such activities. We are also planning to organise more such events in Greater Noida.”

Rashmi Pandey, General Secretary NEFOMA says, “It was a great event. Other societies should have to organise these types of events and women of the societies should also participate in sports to improve their fitness.”

Naresh Nautiyal, a resident of the society says, “We are happy to participate in this volleyball event. All the residents of the society came together to cheer up for their team. Society is planning to organise sports events in future also.”
