Greater Noida- Residents take out car rally in protest against the builder

The residents of La Residentia Society in Greater Noida’s Sector 2 took out a car rally on Sunday in protest against the builder due to poor maintenance. However, the police reached the spot and stopped the rally because the residents hadn't taken the permission. The residents then parked their vehicles on both sides of the road near the society and went on foot to the builder’s office. Around 200 residents of the society participated in this protest. The society project was launched in 2010 in Sector Tech Zone IV. However, only 1,200 out of 3000 flats are occupied since 2016.

Sumit Jalota, a resident of the society, said, “From last 10 days, sanitation workers are on strike. We are unable to get water for 2-3 hours. There are less security personnel now. There are 1100 families living in the society, out of which, 600 families haven’t gotten their registry done yet. There is a lock in the maintenance department, no one is ready to listen to us”.

“The builder gives nothing in the name of facilities. At least basic facilities such as electricity, security,  cleanliness, etc. should continue uninterruptedly. The housekeeping staff and security staff are protesting regularly because the builder doesn't pay them even though he takes full maintenance charges from us. This is why this protest is very important”, said Varun Srivastava, a resident of the society.

Bijoy Tripathi, another resident of the society said, “I purchased a flat in La Residentia society considering my family will get good amenities and safe & hygienic environment, but unfortunately, our builder has no intention to make the place livable. It's totally unfair towards us and hard-earned money. Our flat is still unregistered and no basic facility is being provided by the builder”.

“Since last 5 years, the issues haven't been resolved. The registry is at halt, DG is for hire, garbage cleaning machine is not installed, DG exhaust is not installed, parking allocation is not done, security and housekeeping staff remain on strike every day. All of these things are a daily affair here, we want to get done with them”, said Abhishek Chauhan, a resident of the society.

“The protest was important to highlight our plight to the builder. Garbage has been strewn everywhere in the society,   we are facing daily issues of non-availability of water in few towers, maintenance staff is either inadequate or out of material. Sometimes, we feel like we have made the gravest mistake of our life by choosing this society as our home”, said Puneet Chaudhary, another resident of the society.
