SRSG: Residents raise the issue of poor infrastructure of society

Greater Noida West: The residents of Shri Radha Sky Garden, a group housing society in Greater Noida West have raised the issue of bad infrastructure and lack of basic amenities in their society. Residents shared that issues such as pending registry of their flats, parking area, blockage of sewer lines, seepage and lack of safety  in their society are quite prevalent and have made their lives difficult.

Residents of the society shared that the lack of fire safety equipment in their society poses a safety threat to them. On October 2, 2021, a short circuit in the basement led to a fire outbreak. The cause of the incident was allegedly a naked wire and water seepage in the basement.

On this subject, Mrigank Kumar, a resident of the society says, “Non-availability of fire fighting resources is a big problem for life and property. Due to this, 900 families are always in danger of an untoward incident.”

As per the residents, the builder of the society has pending dues with the authority which has led to the issue of pending registry. From 1980, only 700 flats  have been registered.

On this subject, Piyush Sharma, a resident of the society says, “Due to the dues of the builder to the Greater Noida Authority, the registry of about 1200-1300 flats is pending for years. Despite paying lakhs of rupees to the flat buyers, the flats have not been registered yet and we are constantly paying our EMIs.”

Residents raise their concern on the issue of seepage in the basement of the society, which may affect the structure of the foundation of the building. Gaurav Patel, a resident of the society says, “The problem of leakage and seepage in the basement has been persisting for the last 4 years. Due to this, the pillars of the residential towers are becoming weak. If it is not resolved at the earliest, then the day is not far when any mishap can happen. More than 2500 people of more than 900 families may face a crisis of life and  property.”

Residents shared that they are deprived of basic facilities like parking, Sewage Treatment Plant, club house, and others. Anurag Sharan, a resident of the society says, “Despite the imposition of penalty on the builder many times by the authority, there has been no significant improvement in the situation. The builder has still not resolved our issues.”

Sameer Kapoor, another resident says, “Due to the constant problem of leakage and seepage in the basement, the car parking has not been constructed completely, due to which, till date the car parking has not been handed over to any resident. Whereas, for parking a car, the builder asks for Rs 2 to 3 lakhs. Due to non-availability of car parking, there is a ruckus among the residents every day.”
