What better way to celebrate Diwali than with music! Ganpati Apartments of Sector 9, Dwarka, organised a musical evening on its premises on October 23 to welcome the Festival of Lights.
The event was organised by the society's cultural association, and residents from various societies, social organisations and musical groups of Dwarka were present at the event.
Visually impaired artiste Ankur Gupta sang ghazals, captivating the audience with his voice. Sunil Malik, a member of Sur Sanjeevani, a group of resident music lovers, sang Bollywood oldies.
To the delight of ghazal lovers, a few Mehdi Hassan numbers were also performed by Govind Saraswati of Harmony Apartments, Sector 4, and Dr Shailesh Kumar of Daffodils Apartments, Sector 6 — both known for their classical renderings across Dwarka. Founder-director of Melody Foundation, and a resident of Sector 22, Madhumita Acharya Vishwas, too, regaled the audience with her evergreen Hindi hits.

Chairman of the society's cultural association, PP Bansal, said, "We wanted to provide a platform to local singers, particularly Ankur Gupta. The response from the community has been great, and I feel encouraged to organise more such events in future."
Lauding the efforts, president of Ganpati Apartments, Advocate KS Bhati, said, "We will always support events that promote art and culture. It's not only a great way to entertain the audience, but also a means to forge bonds between people from various societies in Dwarka."
