Noida- DD RWA raise prominent civic issues in meeting with Authority CEO

Noida: District Development and Welfare Association (DD RWA), Gautam Budh Nagar, met Ritu Maheshwari, Chief Executive Officer, Noida Authority and discussed several civic issues such as the problem of poor supply of Ganga water, dog bite, sanitation problems and encroachment among other issues faced by Noida residents on April 8, 2022.

As gathered, DD-RWA requested to have a monthly meeting with higher officials of the Noida Authority to discuss the problems faced by the RWAs.

On this subject, NP Singh, President DDRWA says, “We requested a monthly meeting with the Noida Authority. By visiting the sector every month, officials of the Noida Authority and RWAs can come together to find more practical and technical solutions to the problems."

During the meeting, DD RWA raised the problem of poor supply of Ganga water. CEO Noida Authority assured that a meeting will soon be held with the Irrigation Department to solve the problem.

Thereafter, RWAs of Noida requested to increase two or three agencies for sterilization of stray dogs. Singh says, “The residents of Noida are suffering from the issue of dog bites for some time. Every day, about 4 to 5 dog bite cases are coming to light. The agency hired by the Authority works in coordination with the RWAs but the problem persists. The CEO has assured us that from now on the agency will not be able to get the bill of sterilization from the Authority. Until it was written on the letterhead of RWA that the dogs of the respective sectors have been sterilized.”

Last month, residents of Noida raised the issue of poor sanitation in their area. On this subject, RWAs requested to improve and strengthen the cleanliness system in the city. They also emphasize using the STP water for the irrigation of the plants in the parks of Noida. RWAs requested to cover the drains, and drain slopes and implement regular fogging and anti lava fogging.

On this subject, Sanjeev Kumar, Vice President, DD-RWA says, “The problems of the residents living in Noida city have increased due to uncovered drains. The gas emanating from the drains impacts the lives of the residents and may cause many diseases.”

He adds, “We requested to provide space for children's parks in all sectors of Noida, to get fogging and anti larva spraying twice a week to prevent the diseases caused by mosquitoes in the sectors.”

Moreover, DD RWA raised the issue of encroachment near sector 52. They requested to get the footpath and road near Sector 51, VDS Market and Sector 52 metro station encroachment free.

In this regard, AN Dhawan, Advisor DD RWA says, “We request Noida Authority to take stringent steps to remove the encroachment which is a major inconvenience for the residents of Sector 51. DMRC has rented out the vacant space below Sector 52 station to Rama Banquet Hall. Now, there is no parking space which creates problems for commuters."
