GreNo: DDRWA GB Nagar and GreNo Police listen to public grievances

GreNo: Deputy Commissioner of Police, Meenakshi Katyan, was all ears to the grievances of the residents of Greater Noida in a meeting organised by District Development Resident Welfare Association (DDRWA), Gautam Budh Nagar. Along with DCP, Mahendra Kumar, ACP, Anil Kumar, SHO and other police officials were also present in the meeting where residents put firth their safety concerns.

In the meeting, several safety related concerns were discussed which inlcuded-

  • Illegal PG guest house hostel students are being kept in the city without verification. Under the guise of students, various types of wrong activities are going on, affecting the law and order of the city.
  • Foreign students are living in various sectors without verification.
  • Hotels and dhabas keep running in the market late at night, due to which the security of the sector is affected.
  • A new police post was demanded in Alpha 2, Greater Noida.
  • PCR patrol should be increased, especially during night time.
  • Every month, a meeting should be held with the ACP and the SHO with the office bearers of RWA.
  • Uttar Pradesh Provincial Armed Constabulary (UP-PAC) or Pradeshik Armed Constabulary (PAC) is the armed police of the Indian state of Uttar Pradesh. Residents informed that Alpha One's community centre is occupied by PAC for the last 3 years. PAC should be removed from the community centre, so that marriages and other social programs can be held in the sector.
  • CCTV cameras should be installed at all the intersections.
  • RWA officials should be recognised as friends of the police and should be used for better and effective management of security.
  • People consume alcohol while sitting in cars, and then create nuisance while intoxicated. This should be stopped.
  • Crime against women, eve-teasing and chain snatching should be controlled.


The meeting was conducted by Jitendra Bhati, Vice President of DDRWA and many institutions RWAs of the city participated in this meeting, including Devendra Tiger, President, Greater Noida Federation; Deepak Bhati, General Secretary, Greater Noida Fedration; Jitendra Mavi, President, Alpha 2; Mamta Tiwari, Secretary, Alpha 2 among others.
