Delhi: A fire broke out in B-1 Market East Janakpuri on the morning of July 7, 2022 at around 11 am. The incident was reported to the police and fire service department by the people in the market . A total of five fire tenders rushed to the spot to control the fire and rescue the people trapped there. Two ladies were found unconscious and were rushed to a nearby hospital. 

While extinguishing the fire, one DFS personnel LF 2/52 Raj Singh got several cut injuries in his hand and was rushed to Chanan Devi hospital, where he received first aid treatment.

It is suspected that the fire broke out in the electrical panels under the stairs. It spread in no time. The smoke was causing suffocation to the people trapped. There was no space to escape from the stairs due to fire. Fire brigade rescued people stuck upstairs by breaking the window glasses and going in through ladders and terrace of the other buildings.
