Ghaziabad: On July 10, 2022, residents and members of the AoA of GH7, a residential society in Crossings Republik, carried out a cleanliness drive. In the drive, they swept the streets of the society and collected the waste and garbage scattered in the common areas of the society.
Residents who participated in the drive went to various locations within the society, such as streets and basements, and cleaned up trash and plastic while also taking an inventory of the daily cleaning work that was being done within the society. AOA also put trash cans in the common area of the society.
In addition to the officials of the AOA, the residents of the society, including children, teenagers, and senior citizens, as well as the sanitation staff of the society, took part in the drive.
According to the President of the AOA, Ram Singh, these campaigns should be organized in every society at least once a month. "This will not only raise awareness among the residents about the importance of cleanliness, but it will also encourage the sanitation staff to continue their efforts," says he.
Sumit Srivastava, the General Secretary of the AOA, believes that it is very essential for people to be aware of the importance of cleanliness in the society. He says, "Residents should try to cut down on their use of plastic, and garbage should not be thrown around in public spaces."
