Dwarka: Sukh Dukh Ke Sathi organizes cultural evening

Sukh Dukh Sathi Sanstha (SDKS), an association of senior citizens in Dwarka, organized a cultural evening on July 9, 2022, in the community hall of Chitrakoot Apartments, sector 22. Several members of the group along with their kith and kin performed. Kamaljit Sehrawat, former Mayor of SDMC, graced the occasion as chief guest.

B.S. Yadav, President, Senior Citizens Association; A.S. Chatwal, General Secretary Dwarka Forum; RK Jain President Seniors Hub; Ravi Jaitly, General Secretary of Senior Hub Dwarka and R.S Jakhoo Secretary of Chitrakoot Apartments were present as special invitees.

Captain S.S. Mann, President of SDKS welcomed all and initiated the programme by lighting the lamp with other senior members of the Sanstha. This was followed by a self-written prayer to goddess Saraswati by a poet and member PB Mishra and Shabad Vani by N.S Bedi. Mohinder Kumar kept everyone engaged through his interactive anchoring.

After the prayers, the audience witnessed Rajasthani and Gujarati folk dances by Suhani; Mahak, Pratha and Sanvi; Sambhavi; Abhilasha and Eya and a Western dance by baby Angelina. Master Abeer Shrotriya played a filmy song on Casio. Nidhi presented a self-written poem on the philosophy of life and Baby Harshika sang a beautiful song. The Sanstha members PB Mishra and Anil Upadhyay presented their self-written ghazals. NS Bedi, S.R Nimesh, Usha Chowdhary, Asha Varshaney, V.K Saigal, OP Raheja, Joginder Malik and Deepak Malik, presented musical songs from Hindi films. President and Vice-President of the Sanstha Capt S.S Mann and Col. PC Chowdhary presented fun-filled Punjabi folk songs. D.C Mathur cracked good jokes and made the members laugh.

All participants who were in large numbers enjoyed every bit of the function and encouraged every presentation on stage. Finally, mementos were presented to all the performers as a token of appreciation by the hand of Chief Guest Kanwaljeet Sahrawat. The function ended with a vote of thanks by the SDKS Vice President Col PC Chowdhary, followed by dinner.
