Dwarka: Sukh Dukh Ke Sathi (SDKS), a social organisation of senior citizens in Dwarka, organised a plantation drive, the second in the series during the current monsoon, in Darshan park behind New Kanchanjunga Apartments, sector-23, Dwarka, on Tuesday, July 19, 2022. It was coordinated with the Municipal Corporation of Delhi (MCD) Horticulture department. About two hundred and fifty saplings were planted during the drive.
SDKS members with its president Captain SS Mann, Secretary DC Mathur, residents of New Kanchanjunga, Sadbhavana Apartments Sector 22, and adjoining societies participated in the event. Captain Mann also welcomed Kamaljit Sehrawat, former Mayor of SDMC who graced the occasion.
Each participant planted at least one tree. Guru Kamal Jit Singh, a physically challenged resident of New KanchanJunga Apartments, also contributed a plant for the drive. Ranvir Singh, Supervisor MCD(Horticulture) and his staff assisted in the plantation. Pits were dug by them a day in advance. Kuldip Yadav, sanitary inspector, MCD, also participated and promised to keep the playground and its adjoining area neat and clean.

Kamaljeet Sherawat appreciated SDKS for its commitment to social service and promised to support such endeavours in future.
The program ended with SDKS Secretary DC Mathur dedicating a vote of thanks to all the participants for making the program a success, followed by refreshments.
