Gurugram- Water Crisis in sector 45

Gurugram: Nearly 8,000 families in sector 45 faced a water crisis for four days from July 14-July 18, 2022. As gathered by residents, sector 45 has two water motors, one for operational purposes and the other for backup. They allege that the backup motor has been defunct for the past one and a half years. Then the operational motor broke down on July 14, 2022, resulting in no water supply in 2,000 houses of sector 45 for the next four days.

During the water crisis, residents were compelled to buy water tankers for daily requirements. Residents allege that the Municipal Corporation of Gurugram ignored their problems and has failed to provide a permanent solution to this problem.

In the face of a crisis, the RWA of sector 45 arranged for private water tankers to help the affected residents ride over the water crisis. OP Yadav, RWA president of sector 45, Gurugram, informed that the MCG worker visited sector 45 and took the water booster with them to repair on July 16, 2022. It was then repaired on July 18, 2022. He says, "The workers of MCG visited our area after days of the crisis. After repeated complaints, we usually hear from the Junior Engineer of MCG saying that we will look into the matter. The problem has been solved for now but I hope it doesn't occur again."

The water crisis is a recurring issue in sector 45. The reason for the recurring water crisis is the fluctuations in the electricity supply says L.R Yadav, Commander (Rtd), and a resident of sector 45. He says, "Fluctuations in electricity supply is the reason for the frequent damage of water booster motor. This is a grave matter as water is an indispensable need."
