Dwarka- Swadeshi mela is being organized at CCRT

The 7th Swadeshi mela is being organized at the Centre for Cultural Resources and Training, CCRT grounds in sector 7. This Mela is organized yearly before Diwali to promote swadeshi goods and make small businesses self-reliable. This year, it started on October 11, and it will continue till October 17, 2022. There is no entry fee and you can visit from noon to till 10 pm. Cultural programs are being organized from 5:30 pm.

As you will enter the Mela, you will be able to see numerous colourful stalls offering a variety of items. Around 125 micro industries from all over the country are participating in this fair. The industries range their products from food to clothing and unique creative pieces. Artisans from Bihar, Odissa, Rajasthan, and Gujrat have come here. Among indigenous handicrafts, you will find Rajasthani dupattas, Madhubani painted clothes and accessories, recycled cloth items, Bengali printed sarees, khadi clothes from Gujrat, and much more!

The stage is set up on the right-hand side of the main entrance and a seating arrangement is made for visitors to enjoy cultural programs. Proper security is being arranged at the entrance to prevent any kind of mishappening.

CA Hemedra Gupta, a member of the organizing committee and a resident of Dwarka says, “Artisans from different cities are showcasing their talent. In addition, there are food stalls from every city where visitors can enjoy the regional cuisines of India."

Hemendra also informs CitySpidey that they organize tasks and quizzes for the participating entrepreneurs in which they teach them how to promote their talent and business. Tips are provided to them on business communication and how to grow their business. He shares that the mela has seen gradual growth over the years. The organizers of the mela wish to hold it more frequently and organize it at more locations.
