CCTV footage from Assotech The Nest in Ghaziabad's Crossing Republik has become viral on social media. In the video, three girl children (8-10 years old) can be seen trapped in the lift of society as they desperately try to open it and summon help. As gathered, the footage is from November 29, 2022. The kids were trapped for nearly 20-25 minutes after which they were rescued. Post this, a case has been registered against the builder of the society.

It can be seen in the viral video on social media that the girls got trapped in the lift due to a malfunction. After being suddenly trapped in the lift, the girls panicked badly and started trying to open the lift. When the lift did not open even after exerting a lot of force, the girls pressed the emergency call button. The girls can be seen weeping and consoling each other.
After this, the relatives of the girls lodged a case against the office bearers of the society and the maintenance. In the Police complaint, the father of the girls alleges that the maintenance of the lift costs more than 25 lakhs annually. Yet, every other day a person gets stuck in the lift.
Cases of malfunctioning lifts and residents getting trapped in lifts are becoming increasingly common in Delhi NCR.
