Delhi: The ongoing cold wave in Delhi escalated on Friday, January 6, 2023, as temperature dropped to 1.8 degree in Aya Nagar region of the national capital. A thick layer of fog continues to loom over Delhi's sky. According to IMD, the fog is likely to persist in the upcoming days as well. However, the temperature might see a rise in the coming week.

With this, the air in Delhi continues to be in the very poor category. According to the Central Pollution Control Board (CPCB), on Friday morning at 7:30 am, the hourly Air Quality Index (AQI) was 369.

It is to be noted that an AQI between 0 and 50 is considered good, 51 and 100 satisfactory, 101 and 200 moderate, 201 and 300 poor, 301 and 400 very poor, and 401 and 500 severe.
