Health Hazards Loom as Drainage Issues Persist in Noida Sector 19

Noida: The residents of Noida Sector 19 are currently grappling with a severe problem that has adversely affected their living conditions. Prolonged drainage issues have resulted in the majority of drains in the sector becoming clogged, leading to an unhygienic environment and potential health hazards.

Dharam Pal Garg, a concerned resident of Sector 19, brought attention to the dire situation, highlighting that most open drains in the sector remain choked throughout the year. Specifically, Drain No. 2 has been backflowing, causing dirty water to spread all over the road. Garg further revealed that the front of his own house (house no. B-353) is inundated with contaminated water, and he has already lodged a complaint with the Resident Welfare Association (RWA). He emphasized the urgency of the matter, stressing that the residents are being forced to endure an unhealthy environment that poses various health risks.

R.C. Gupta, President of the RWA in Noida Sector 19, shared their ongoing efforts to address the issue by raising it during meetings with authority officials. They have repeatedly emphasized the potential health consequences resulting from the unsanitary conditions. However, despite assurances from the authorities, no substantial action has been taken to resolve the matter. Gupta pointed out that the dirty water from Drain No. 2 is now flowing back into the sector's internal drains and spilling onto the roads. The area in front of house no. B-353 has been submerged in contaminated water for an entire week. Regrettably, despite the residents' repeated complaints, the Noida Authority has yet to address the situation. Gupta highlighted that this neglect has transformed the problem into a health hazard, raising questions about the authority's commitment to achieving cleanliness and hygiene goals.

Unclean and unsanitary living conditions not only compromise the residents' quality of life but also pose a significant threat to their health. It is imperative for the relevant authorities to take immediate action and resolve the drainage problem to prevent further health hazards. The residents of Noida Sector 19 earnestly urge the authorities to promptly address the issue and ensure a clean and hygienic living environment for all.
