Residents of Homes 121 society in Noida face severe water crisis

Noida: Residents of Homes 121 Society in Noida Sector-121 have been facing severe water shortages for the past ten days, as the Noida authority supplies only 65% of the society's water requirements. The Apartment Owners Association (AOA) has filed a complaint with the Noida authority regarding the insufficient water supply, but unfortunately, no action has been taken so far. As a result, the AOA has been forced to order water tankers at a cost of Rs 15,000 per tanker.

Over 1700 families residing in Homes 121 Society have been struggling with a water crisis during the summer season. The society's daily water consumption is approximately 15 lakh litres, whereas the Noida authority provides only about 10 lakh litres of water per day.

The AOA has stated that the authority used to supply water for around 3 hours previously, but this has now been reduced to only 1.5 hours. Consequently, the AOA has been compelled to purchase 2 lakh litres of water daily from external suppliers through tankers. Despite paying the supplier, the Noida authority has failed to address the water crisis issue.

Dinesh Singh, the President of the AOA in Homes 121 Society, has highlighted that as per the Occupancy Certificate (OC) of the society, the water connection was obtained from the Noida authority. Additionally, the AOA pays an advance water bill of Rs 40 lakh to the Noida authority every year in April. Despite these payments, the Noida authority has not taken any steps to resolve the problem or provide water through tankers.
