Residents have been grappling with disrupted water supply for over 20 hours now.
A micro tunnelling machine damaged the underground water supply pipeline in Sector 52 late in the night on May 5. This resulted in the water from the pipeline flooding the area near the damage.
Residents’ lives have been thrown out of gear as the supply has been disrupted for over 20 hours. Residents complained that the water started flooding the area when work was going on for laying down pipes for fibre optic cables. The drilling machine had struck the underground water supply pipeline, which resulted in gallons of water being wasted. Ankle-deep water has accumulated in the Block C park.
Durgesh Garg, a resident of the sector, told City Spidey, “My house stopped getting water supply soon after the damage occurred in the line. The supply has been disrupted in many houses and is yet to be restored.”
Shortly after noticing the damage, Noida Authority deployed plumbing staff at the site to repair the damage. According to the staff at the site, water supply is expected to be restored in the sector by the evening of May 6.
