Police have lodged an FIR under Sections 307 (attempt to murder), 323 (voluntarily causing hurt) and 504 (intentional insult with intent to provoke breach of the peace) against Tomar and his associates.

A heated argument over AOA elections between residents escalated and turned bloody, leaving one of them severely injured and hospitalised on Thursday night at VVIP Addresses, a housing society in Raj Nagar Extension.

Gagnesh Sharma, a resident of VVIP was allegedly attacked by his fellow residents when he was returning from a birthday party around 10:30 pm. In the FIR lodged at Sihani Gate Police Station, Sharma has alleged Mohit Tomar and his 3-4 friends for beating him with iron rods.

In the complaint, Sharma has stated that Tomar and his friends were consuming liquor openly next to cricket playground. After watching Sharma, they called him over and a debate on recently occurred AOA election started, which soon, escalated into a brawl. The accused started abusing Sharma and along with his friends, charged at Sharma with iron rods. Sharma has received multiple injuries in his head and other body parts.

Police have lodged an FIR under Sections 307 (attempt to murder), 323 (voluntarily causing hurt) and 504 (intentional insult with intent to provoke breach of the peace) against Tomar and his associates.

Cops said that a CCTV footage is being furnished and investigation has been started. No arrest has been made so far in the case.

Meanwhile, the victim has been admitted to Yashoda Hospital. 

Sharma works as a professor in Galgotias University, Noida and also serves as media in-charge of Federation of Raj Nagar Extension Apartment Owners Association.
