The residents are constantly under threat of diseases such as malaria, dengue, skin infection and many others.
The residents are facing a lot of problems due to open drains in front of the society in last five years at Garima Vihar in Noida. They are forced to live with foul smell emanating from the drains.
They are constantly under threat of diseases such as malaria, dengue, skin infection and many others.
President of Garima Vihar's RWA, Deepak Kharbanda said that drains have not been cleaned in years. “Several complaints have been made to the Noida Authority but they have not taken any action against it,” he said.
Only a small part of drain (approximately 10-15 per cent) has been covered.
In the last 8 months, Kharbanda has been constantly requesting the Authority to make arrangements for covering the drain. But, the Authority has not acted on the complaints made by him.
Moreover, the open drains are also a threat to animals in the area. It has happened many times that pets and street dogs have fallen in the drain. The society people generally rescue them.
