Yesterday early morning around 3:15 A.M two cycles were stolen from Prerna Cooperative Group Housing Society, Sector 10, which has come as a shock to the residents of the society. Anil Jaggi, secretary of the society, shared videos clippings of CCTV camera. He said that this is the second time in August that a cycle has been stolen.
“We reported the theft of cycles from our society to the police. We just wanted to share that the modus operandi of the incident was surprising as the thieves entered by jumping the wall although there is barbed wire fencing on the high wall. You can see a thief jumping from backside wall and picking the cycle and handing over to another person who is standing on a tree behind the wall.This incident happened at 3.15 AM. Two cycles have been stolen,” said Jaggi.
According to Jaggi, when the thieves stole the cycle earlier, the owner of the cycle got to know about a week later. He further added that the owner is quite sure that his cycle would have been stolen in a same way.
"The owner whose cycle was stolen earlier got to know about a week later since he used and kept it. So we don’t know exactly when the theft happened. But looking at the modus operandi of yesterday’s theft, I am sure that earlier cycle theft would have happened in a similar way. I want to make the community aware about this particular incident so that the other societies can avoid such incidents,” Jaggi added.
