Prantic Cultural Society bags two awards for organising Durga Puja

Indirapuram-based Bengali cultural association, Prantic Cultural Society, has won two awards for organising one of the best pujas in Delhi-NCR. The society has been awarded in two categories: best creativity, best interior and conceptual puja.

This is the second time the cultural association bagged awards for organising Durga Puja. In 2016, it had won the first prize for decoration of its pandal.

This year, the awards have been given by Dream Nurturist Avenue, a conglomerate of Bengali associations in Delhi-NCR.  The organisation awards the best Durga Puja committees based on set parameters to encourage efforts of the organisers.

The idea is to collaborate with various categories of puja like – theme-based puja, best idol (from different zones), eco-friendly pujas, society puja, best Initiative in social welfare, best pandal decoration (in different zones), best management, etc.

This year, Prantic Cultural Society dedicated its Durga Puja pandal to the Bengali Cinema. As the Bengali cinema completed its glorious 100 years, the Indirapuram-based Bengali cultural association has chosen it as this year’s theme for their yearly Durga puja pandal.

The pandal showcases the legendary works and artists of Bengali cinematic universe through murals and posters. The pandal has been decorated with artworks of legends like Satyajeet Ray, Ritwik Ghosh, Mrinal Sen and many others.
