Criminal activities continue unabatedly at GreNo West; three flats ransacked

Greater Noida: There seems to be no end to criminal activities in the Greater Noida West area this week. After a murder and foiled abduction bid, three flats in two highrises were robbed of cash and valuables on Friday.

Two flats of Elegant Ville in Tech Zone 4 area of Greater Noida West were robbed by breaking into the house. Both the flats were adjacent to each other. The robberies happened while the residents of both the flats were not around. They were an easy target for the robbers.

Hemant Singh, owner of Flat D103 left for his office at 9 am in the morning. When he came back, he found that the lock of the main gate was broken. Talking to CitySpidey, Hemant said that his wife had gone to her hometown in Bihar and he was living alone there for a while. He found everything scattered when he came back to his flat in the evening.

The flat next to Hemant was also ransacked by the robbers. As per the residents, the owner was not staying there and the flat was locked.

Likewise, another break-in also took place at a flat in Nirala Estate’s Tower 2, another highrise in Tech Zone 4 on Friday while the family was away.

Kumar Saurabh, a resident of Nirala Estate told CitySpidey that the owner of flat had gone to bring his family back from his village at 8 am and when they returned at 10 pm in the night, they found that the lock of the house was broken.

The family reported police that half kilogram of silver jewellery and over Rs 30,000 cash were stolen. Police reached the spot after a call.

Both the societies, where the robberies took place, were less than 2 km away from each other. As per the police, the modus operandi was same to get inside the flats.

An FIR was registered in Bisrakh police station and the investigation will start soon.

Meanwhile, the residents of Nirala estate on Saturday held a meeting with their builder BK Gupta regarding the need to strengthen the security of the society. Gupta has promised that all issues regarding security will be taken up on priority and will be resolved within a month’s time.
