Residents’ demand fulfilled, Capetown Sr. citizens to get first aid

Noida: A week after residents of Supertech Capetown proposed first aid for senior citizens of the high rise in sector 74, Noida, the facility has been made available.

According to Arun Sharma, president of apartment owners’ association (AOA), they have made available five wheelchairs and stretchers for medical emergency in the society.

Wheelchairs and stretchers are placed in all three clubs and security cabins situated on two entry gates of the society. The AOA has also arranged six first-aid boxes for all the clubs at both the gates and facility services office in the basement of a temple.

Sharma said that such medical facilities in the society can be utilised in case of any emergency, urgency or requirement. People can contact security/club manager/ facility team for obtaining these services.

Every time a medical emergency occurs in the society, it takes a long time to take the patient to the hospital. The first service will be of great help such time, say the residents.

They cited incidents of lift failure, plaster falling from ceiling etc. as common occurrence in many societies including Capetown. In case a plaster falls on someone or anyone is in a trauma after being rescued from lift, the first aid will help stabilise the patient until emergency medical service reaches.

Therefore, the residents said, it would be good if a society has first-aid arrangement, especially for senior citizens. Other societies already have the facility.
