Indirapuram: Thousands of residents of Noida travelling to Delhi via Indirapuram will have to face difficulty in commuting from next week as the CISF Road will be closed for the next six months for sewer work.

Water Corporation of Ghaziabad is going to lay sewage pipe under the CISF Road from Shakti Khand Sewage Treatment Plant (STP) situated next to the road.

The CISF Road is a convenient route for commuters from Indirapuram, Raj Nagar Extension, Mohan Nagar and Arthala to travel to Noida and Delhi. The closure of the road will affect the lives of residents from more than 30 highrises who are directly or indirectly connected to other areas via this road.

The road will be closed in phases over a period of six months in order to ease inconvenience caused to the residents, an official said.

In monsoon season, a portion of the road, especially near DPS Indirapuram, gets waterlogged. The STP discharged water overflows and spills over the road due to inadequate carriage capacity of the current STP pipe . To prevent this situation, the corporation is laying an 1800 mm STP pipe below the CISF Road.
