Rajiva Singh, president of the NOFAA, said that dumping wet waste at landfills is hazardous for health. It seeps into the ground in a few years and thereby contaminates groundwater.

The residents were also updated about various techniques for kitchen waste composting.

The event got a good response from the residents of the society. They turned up in huge numbers to enhance their knowledge about waste disposal. Maj (retired) Neeraj Mishra, president of the society management committee, was also present at the workshop.
