New Delhi: Liquor shops were found to be violating the norms laid down by the education department. Due to this, the school going children and parents are facing problems. 

This matter came into light at Mayur Vihar Phase III. CitySpidey identified two liquor shops located near school premises. The residents had complained about this to area SHO but the situation is same as it was earlier.

A resident of Mayur Vihar Phase III, Madhu Nair said, “At this time, the students are busy preparing for CBSE board exams and annual exams. They are bothered about the nuisance being created in the vicinity.”

Just 100 meter away from Ryan International school in Mayur Vihar Phase III, a liquor shop can be seen. Another liquor shop is located in New Kondli which is just two km away from Bal Bharati School neat Khoda colony. It affects the students as goons and drunk people create nuisance near the schools.

A resident of Jai Ambey society in New Kondali, Seetharaman said, “I drop my children to school. I feel ashamed by the foul language used by drunk people in front of the students. It is also violation of norms.” 

Education department has clearly said that there should be no liquor or pan masala shop near schools. It is illegal to sell liquor within 100 meter radius of school.
