Noida: With 104 more people testing positive of Covid-19 including Dadri MLA Tejpal Nagar, Gautam Budh Nagar’s tally rose to 6,700 on Wednesday, according to the official data.

The district’s overall recoveries jumped to 5,872 after 93 patients were treated and discharged during the last 24 hours period. The recovery rate slightly improved to 87.64 per cent from 87.61 per cent on Tuesday and 86.96 per cent on Monday, as per the statistics.

The number of active cases now stood at 785 in the district, while 43 people died due to coronavirus. The mortality rate counted to 0.64 per cent, better from previous day’s 0.65 per cent, it showed.

In a tweet, Dadri MLA Tejpal Nagar said, “I was seeing the initial symptoms of coronavirus, following which I got tested and found positive of the infection. I request all those who come in contact with me recently to self-isolate them as per guidelines and get them tested as per the requirement.”

Meanwhile, Uttar Pradesh recorded 5,156 fresh cases, while 53 more persons succumbed to the deadly disease in the last 24 hours, the state health department said.

The state’s tally of positive cases has now reached 1,67,510, of which, 1,15,227 patients were treated and discharged so far.

There were 49,645 active cases across the state while death toll counted to 2,638.
