Delhi on Thursday reported 26 deaths due to coronavirus, taking the death toll to 5,924.

New Delhi: For the third consecutive day, Delhi reported more than 3,000 new coronavirus cases on Thursday. 3,483 new cases were reported in the last 24 hours, taking the cumulative tally to 3,21,031. The number of new cases reported came out of 55,891 tests conducted on the previous day.

Delhi recorded 3,324 new cases on Wednesday, 3,036 on Tuesday, 1,849 on Monday, 2,780 on Sunday, 2,866 on Saturday and 2,860 on Friday.

55,891 tests were conducted, of which 13,985 were RTPCR/CBNAAT/TrueNat tests and 41,906 were rapid antigen tests. The positivity rate increased to 6.23 per cent from 5.84 per cent on the previous day. The cumulative positivity rate was 8.38 per cent.

Delhi on Thursday reported 26 deaths due to coronavirus, taking the death toll to 5,924. 44 deaths were reported on Wednesday, 45 on Tuesday, 40 on Monday, 29 on Sunday, 48 on Saturday, 38 on Friday and 37 on Thursday.

On the other hand, 2,755 patients recovered from the deadly disease, taking the total recovery figure to 2,92,502 in the national capital. The recovery rate slightly declined to 91.11 per cent from 91.24 per cent on the previous day.

The new cases outnumbered the recoveries on Tuesday. It affected the active cases count negatively. Active cases increased by 702 in the city. Delhi has now 22,605 active cases. The number of people in home isolation is 12,810. Out of the total number of 16,109 beds in Covid hospitals, 11,000 are vacant.
