UP Energy Minister accepts residents' demand to replace old transformers

Noida: Uttar Pradesh Energy Minister Shrikant Sharma on Saturday met with residents at Sector 30, Noida to discuss power supply issues with them. 

While the meeting was in progress, residents raised the issue sincerely and sought his attention for solution. They told that there are several old transformers in residential pockets that are needed to be replaced with new ones. It would ensure uninterrupted power supply to them. 

Residents have also suggested the minister for replacing the overhead supply line with an underground supply line. They said that overhead supply line has been facing several issues such as grown tree branches leaning on them and chaos due to cable net etc. 

They also suggested convening a joint meeting of officials and residents with the minister. They said that if meetings are conducted on regular basis, both minor and major problems can be tackled on time. This will ensure continuous power supply to residential pockets. 

Sharma, who was joined by AM Bangari, Managing Director of PVVNL and BN Singh, Chief of PVVNL, promptly accepted residents’ suggestions and demand for replacement of old transformers. He ordered officials to ensure action on residents’ demands. 

Bangari also assured residents that officials from PVVNL would conduct regular meetings with residents to register their grievances and solve them as soon as possible.
