New Delhi: This pandemic has wreaked havoc on the lives of lakhs of families. The situation is getting worse and people are looking for every ounce of hope and help in these tough times.

Vedam, preschool in Sector-ETA 1, Greater Noida, has taken an initiative of providing freshly  prepared and nutritious meals to Covid positive patients for free and ensures that the meal will reach your doorstep.

In a talk with CitySpidey, owner of the school, Ankit Jain shared, “We have also gone through the same situation. My wife was positive and I lost my grandfather on April 22 and the idea came through when my in-laws were covid positive. They are very old and stay alone in Greater Noida. So we were giving food to them on a daily basis.”

“And then the idea came to our mind that there are many people who are Covid positive and live alone and are not able to cook nutritious and healthy food. We thought that if we are Covid negative so we should be helping them out,” he added.

Ankit continued, “Also knowing that in Greater Noida, there are so many nuclear families and we know so many people around here and thus it came to our mind that we should do something for them in our capability in the times of crisis. We were  thinking that we would just cook food for 10 or 20 people but now the situation is that we are delivering lunch to more than 80 people.”

There are about 5 to 6 people who were doing sewa on a daily basis. They started preparation at night and cooked fresh food in the early morning. They have some volunteers for delivery.

Ankit added, “The biggest challenge we are facing right now is delivery because we don't have many people for that.”

He continued, “I and my wife took our car respectively and our school driver took a school car to deliver food and we try to ensure nutritious food will be delivered to the people as soon as possible.”

They only provide lunch because they have limited resources. They also shared that many people also helped them a lot, some of them gave wheat flour or some vegetables to them. Majorly it is coordinated by the Vedam team. His wife, his mother-in-law and his 12-year-old daughter also help him in the early morning.

The Jain family lived in the Silver City, Society 2, Greater Noida. The Vedam team also shared that they felt very embarrassed when they said no to someone who needs them just because of limited resources but they will try to reach more people to help.
