New Delhi: Although the new coronavirus infections showed a downward trend, the high number of daily deaths refused to subside in Delhi. It has again risen in last two days. Delhi reported 347 deaths on Tuesday, taking the toll to 20,010. The Capital recorded 319 deaths on Monday, 273 on Sunday, 332 on Saturday, 341 on Friday, 335 on Thursday and 311 on Wednesday.

Continuing with the downward trend in last four days, the city reported 12,481 new coronavirus cases on Tuesday, taking the cumulative tally to 13,48,699. Delhi reported 12,651 new coronavirus cases on Monday, 13,336 new coronavirus cases on Sunday, 17,364 on Saturday, 19,832 on Friday, 19,133 on Thursday and 20,960 on Wednesday.

The number of new cases reported came out of 70,276 tests conducted on the previous day. At least 54,619 RTPCR/CBNAAT/TrueNat tests and 15,657 rapid antigen tests were conducted in the last 24 hours. The positivity rate declined to 17.76 per cent from 19.10 per cent on the previous day. The cumulative positivity rate was 7.51 per cent, slightly higher than a day before.

A total of 13,583 patients recovered from the deadly disease, taking the total recovery figure to 12,44,880 in the national capital. The active cases declined to 83,809 from 85,258 on the previous day.

As far as vaccination drive is concerned, a total of 1,40,963 people received vaccines in the last 24 hours. A total of 93,746 people received the first dose of the vaccine whereas 47,217 people received their second dose. So far, 40,18,363 persons have received vaccines in the national capital. Out of the total 22,953 beds in coronavirus hospitals, 3,890 are vacant. The tally of people in home isolation slightly declined to 51,480 from 52,451 on Monday.
