Dwarka: If you are a nature lover and you love to have plants at your home, you need not visit any place outside Dwarka. Plus, you need not worry about your pocket too as Horticulture Division of DDA Dwarka has started a new sell/purchase nursery in Sector 4.
The nursery, with the name Dwarka nursery DDA, is serving the community people across the city with its variety of plants at a reasonable price. Here one can get a plant even at Rs 15. According to officials, one can get a range of plants by spending 15 rupees to 300 rupees.
One can get various types of ornamental plants and herbal plants in the nursery for both indoor and outdoor purposes. Assistant Director Horticulture, DDA Dwarka, RK Meena mentioned some varieties of plants, “Indoor plants like croton, araucaria, snake plant, yucca, raphis palm, areca palm, draecena, jade plant, syngonium, money plant and philodendron oxicodium etc. and herbal plants like tulsi, aloe vera, patharchatt, curry leaf, harshingar, crinum etc. are available at this nursery.”
Meena informed that ornamental trees like amaltas, gulmohar, champa, ficus panda and palm trees like bottle palm, livistona, phoenix palm, cycus palm etc are available at this nursery. Many flowering shrubs like gudhal, hamelia, jatropha, tecoma, canna, bougainvillia etc are there to serve the community at the nursery.
Apart from plants, the nursery also provided the community organic fertisers and compost. Organic fertilisers like vermicompost are prepared and sold at the nursery. Various sizes of earthen and cement pots are also available there which one can choose according to plants and purpose.
Meena said, “Apart from plants and other stuff related to the plantation, we also suggest to people what is suitable and good for a particular place or purpose. So in that way we guide them the right things so that they can appreciate plants and visit us again. We are there to serve the community.”
Nature lovers are visiting the nursery and having plants of their choice. They expressed that the place has given them a facility in the city and made plantation easier than before. Seema Singh, a resident of Sector 12 said, “The best part of the nursery is that one can get the information about the plants in a proper way. There are boards with names of plants and there is always someone who would guide you. So it’s a good time there to know about the plants and purchase it for home.”
The nursery remains open from 09:30 am to 4:30 pm.
