Gaur Sportswood: Residents send legal notice to builder

Noida: A legal notice has been served to the Gaursons Sportswood Private Limited builder on behalf of the residents of Gaur Sportswood, a residential society in Sector 79, on Wednesday. The residents served legal notice alleging deficient services, unfair and restrictive trade practices, dereliction of duty, non-fulfillment of promises, and unscrupulous exploitation.

As per the notice, the residents of Gaur Sportswood have been facing various problems for which no solution is provided in spite of various correspondences. Residents said they were left with no option but to take the legal route. Residents also said that there is no proper cleaning/mopping of tennis and badminton courts, making them unsanitary.

The mosquitoes make it difficult for the complainants/residents to engage in any sports activity. Further, sewage and solid waste are being dumped in the adjoining plot, thereby making it a breeding ground for mosquitoes, resulting in further depletion of the surrounding conditions.

Sanwarjeet Dasoundi, a resident of the society, said, “We have purchased the flats with a hope of better living conditions and each of us has invested a substantial part of our respective savings in purchasing the respective flats/apartments. However, our expectations of having a modern, and top-class society were shattered soon after respective shifting and possession.”

“We have been facing several issues on a daily basis, without any immediate or plausible solution. As a result, such issues are hampering the environment of the project, making it extremely unworthy, unsafe, and tedious for the complainants to reside. Therefore, such vital and important issues, not limited to just safety, cleanliness, pending construction and repair work, demand immediate attention and action from your end, but nothing has been done till date,” he said.

The letter has mentioned four major points which include, lack of adequate security, poor construction, the pathetic condition of the park, other sports facility and overall hygiene issues.

Ashu Kansal, the advocate who sent the legal notice and also a resident of the society, said, “We have sent a legal notice to the builder since we are facing these problems for a very long time but no concrete action was taken from his side. Security and water problems are major issues. No proper bills are provided, be it for electricity, water, or other charges, and only a consolidated maintenance bill is issued every month without any cost breakup.”

CitySpidey also tried to reach out to the builder. We will update the story as soon as we get a reply.
